My New Thirteens

The small check-sized box in my mailbox yesterday baffled me... until I saw the KnitPicks logo on the packing tape. My new size 13 tips for the interchangable needle set had arrived! This morning, I took the time to knit Mary's birthday scarf (yes, I'm aware her birthday was over a week ago) onto the new needles so I could finish it during lunch at work. It's so much easier transporting a project on circulars rather than straight needles!

Weekend at the Parents

I hadn't chilled at the parents' house since Christmas, so I spent a good chunk of my time in Gwinnett this past weekend.

Ralph was sprawled out anywhere and everywhere in *his* house (nothing new here...)

Booger is learning to balance treats on her nose (and Layla probably still can't catch a treat thrown directly at her to save her life).

Dad was showing off the giant ice cubes that had formed out of rainwater in Mom's flower pots in the backyard.

Mom and Mary were acting weird out in public (again, what's new?)

And Mary liked the "Lordy, Lordy! Lisa is 40!" limo (parked next to *her* new car with its brand new licence plate).

Second Workout

I finally motivated myself to do one of my Pilates videos around 9:30 last night. Since Garfield was already awake and running around his cage, I decided to block off the stairs and let him run around in his ball so he would get a workout, too. Thirty minutes later, I turned off the TV and went looking for the yellow hamster ball.

He must have hit something hard enough to pop the top off of his ball. After much scurrying around on hands and knees, I located him hiding under my bed.

I am not above bribing him with his favorite treat, oatmeal.

Gotcha! He (obviously) wasn't too happy about being captured.

Peace

The first week of 2009 ends today. Hopefully this just means that there are a lot more great and wonderful things to come this year!
"No matter what you face this year, trust that God can give you his peace. Believe that his face is always shining on you. Then when challenges arise, just turn your face to him, and you will know his strength and his presence. God has an amazing year in store for you!"

How Was Work?

It is Erin's birthday. The Trailer 2 people have lots of fun with co-workers on their birthdays. Therefore, her office will be decorated for the occasion!

Please notice the items from her desk hanging from the ceiling: a stapler, a spiral notebook, a dry-erase board eraser, a tube of lotion (tape dispenser not pictured).

How this was accomplished:

If you have seen the movie "Entrapment," I felt just like Catherine Zeta-Jones trying to get around the room. Thanks to IT Guy for his help with the photography ;-)

Welcome, 2009!

I hope that everyone has recovered from their New Year celebrations!

For those of you who are saying, "Poor Booger!"--this was Mom's doing, not mine ;-)
