Positivity Challenge: Day 5

It's the final day of the Positivity Challenge (well, technically it was yesterday, but I forgot to post), and today I'm grateful for:
  1. Technology that allows me to stay connected to friends and family by just swiping the tip of my finger across a tiny screen...
  2. A written budget--as hard as it was to get started, it brings such a sense of accomplishment when we stick to it and have money left to save at the end of the month
  3. I am now on the substitute teacher list for a private school right around the corner!

Positivity Challenge: Day 4

Oops, I appear to have skipped a day!  I'll pick up where I left off with day 4, so here are my three positives for today:
  1. Making new friends with the Jamberry Nails ladies at the consignment sale I'm working through next Thursday.  They kept me awake during a slow afternoon!
  2. Mid-afternoon naps.  They are awesome.
  3. A few hours relaxing on the dock at Lake Lanier with my husband, my sister, and my brother-in-law.  We saw lots of fish and a few ducks.

Positivity Challenge: Day 3

For the third day of the Positivity Challenge, and my 3 positives for the day are:
  1. Love and support from friends and family
  2. An upcoming beach vacation to look forward to!
  3. Getting my crafty time in with both the library stitch group and the IHOP stitch group in the same day
My current cross stitch project and another knit dishcloth

It's day two of the Positivity Challenge, and today my 3 positive incidents are:
  1. Free yoga classes through our medical insurance
  2. A job interview (more to come on that later...)
  3. Lunch date with my wonderful husband

Birthday Randomness

Two of my favorite things, cute hammies and Castle!

And to celebrate my birthday, Kristine and I are going on the Roswell Ghost Tour tonight led by our book club buddy and awesome author friend, Beth Dolgner!

Birthday Theme

I'm sensing a theme in (early) birthday presents from my two best friends!  Now I think I need another piece of Vera to add to the growing set of Spring's Up accessories in my purse... what do you think of the simple but cute coin purse?

P.S. Thanks for the turn lock wallet, Heather!  I'm still organizing my stuff in all the little pockets...

Uh-oh...

I think my inner fangirl is starting to show... will Monday get here already?

AND THEN WATCH THE CANADA PROMO!

By the way, if you're not familiar with the blog Hyperbole and a Half (original source of this meme image), you *must* check it out!

Out With the Old

My personal Vera Bradley supplier, HistoryDiva, gave me an early birthday present yesterday!  She replaced my old tattered zip ID case with a bright new one--which I switched over to right away, of course!

I didn't realize how old and beat up my last one was until she informed me that the Cupcakes Green pattern was retired two years ago.  So now I'm debating whether or not to update my hand-me-down super-retired Emily zip-around wallet.  Wouldn't it be cute (and bright) in Lime's Up, my new pattern...

Worn Out

What do you do when your well-loved purse has trekked all over the U.S. (in addition to half a million grocery runs) and needs to be replaced? You go to Gold Rush and buy another because three years later, the awesome purse monogramming booth is back!  And yes, I did show off the battered purse I bought from them that I was still carrying around...

Compare the holey faded purse to the crisp clean seams of the new one

I used all of my initials this time!

Current Events vs. Pop Culture

I'm a week behind in my "current" events, but these are still funny!

Friday Funny

You know it's a Friday during Lent when you get "It's peanut butter jelly time" stuck in your head while making lunch...

Power Outage

What should you do when the power goes out at 4:00 am? If you're me, you light a candle and go downstairs to try to locate the source of the infernal "I have no power" beeping that will not stop.  Along the way, I grabbed my cell phone to report the power outage (yes, I have the number stored in my phone), and then attempted to knit by candlelight while waiting for the power to turn back on and the beeping to stop.  I finally figured out how to stop the beeping five minutes before the power turned back on, and it had been out for an hour already.  And where was Dave?  Upstairs, snoring...

I finished a knitting project the other day, albeit not during the power outage Tuesday morning.  I'd show it off, but the recipient actually reads my blog, so it will have to wait.  The picture above will serve as your glimpse of it until then!

Snow Funnies

In honor of the "Snowpocalypse" in the Atlanta area this week, I am posting these funnies that are going around Facebook. I'm so happy that the temperature made it up into the 40's today so everything can finally melt away!

Christmas Decor?

Because nothing says Merry Christmas quite like a glittery pink statue of Mary, an adult Jesus in purple, and a penguin to match...

Mmm... Puzzle!

I used to work on puzzles all the time... but then I learned how to knit, and that sucked up all available puzzle time. However, this puzzle has me trying to figure out where I can squeeze in a puzzle table at home. I love the colors, and it doesn't hurt that they're pretty cupcakes with lots and lots of sprinkles!

Bad Romance

I brought this video up at book club, so I thought I should post it... it's fantastically funny, and these young men are so talented! They're from the University of Oregon's premiere all male a cappella ensemble, On the Rocks.

Star Wars Subway Car

This totally made my day! I love how everyone seems to have their camera phone out...

I just noticed that I did two Star Wars posts in a row! What are the odds?
