- Between the book club for In the Sanctuary of Outcasts, dinner at Spice Brick Oven Kitchen with college friends, and lunch at Mykonos Taverna with old book club friends, I had a lot of great "girls only" time!
- I spent a lot of quality time with my husband as well with a week-long trip to Tennessee, no more overtime at work every night, and only one Sunday working from home. I've also gotten him addicted to Castle in time for the season finale in May *evil grin*
- Unfortunately, we've learned that Dave's new office is not far enough away to be considered a "hardship," which means we will not be able to rent out the townhouse if it doesn't sell. The bright side is that home improvements are coming along slowly but surely (and within budget), and our realtor is optimistic that we may be able to sell for more than our appraisal value.
- Less than a month left of work for me! May 17th is my last day, and then I become full-time housewife with the mission of getting our house on the market and sold as quickly as possible. After four years working at the same school, I'm ready to graduate!
- After too many months of procrastination, I took my "To Finish" bag of knits to our monthly PINS group and wove in the ends of almost a dozen projects. Now to motivate myself to hand wash them all...

From the Fangirl
My inner fangirl is anxiously awaiting tonight's season finale of Castle. In case you need the past four years of Castle and Beckett's relationship summed up in under ten minutes, I've posted this wonderful video for your viewing pleasure.

End of Season Obsession
Instead of obsessively knitting or reading lately, I've been obsessing over one of my current favorite TV shows through fan fiction and fan videos. If you don't watch Castle, you should start--I even have the first season on DVD I can lend to you! If you do watch, you'll probably squeal over this YouTube video just like I did. It makes me smile every time I watch :-)
Castle's fourth season ends on May 7th. The big question is whether or not Castle and Beckett will finally get together. One of my previous TV favorites, JAG, stretched out their main characters hooking up until the eleventh hour (literally the last five minutes of the series finale with an out-of-the-blue marriage proposal) after dragging the shipper fans along for nine years. Another, Lois and Clark, tried hooking them up too early (with another ill-timed proposal) and the show died a slow and bizarre-plot-twisting death over the next two seasons (clones, amnesia, and New Kryptonian civil war... ugh). My advice to the writers of Castle--no proposal until they've been dating at least half a season, please!

Friday Funny
This is just an excuse to once again plug the University of Oregon's male a cappella group singing "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga. I found a more professional version of the video, and now this song will now be stuck in my head the rest of the day...
It's just an added bonus that I'm throwing in a random Patrick Stewart picture. And no, I'm not ashamed I knew the name of the Picard clone from Star Trek: Nemesis at trivia last night...

Embrace Life
I know I have been posting a lot of videos lately, but this one is a pretty cool British commercial from the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership encouraging people to wear their seatbelt. Enjoy!

Friday Funny
Yes, it was that bad, Captain Picard! Let's just say it was another boring week of summer (and work) until Dave's car met the bumper of an SUV, and then things just headed downhill from there... he's fine, but we're thinking the car isn't going to make it. Thank goodness it's finally Friday and we both have the weekend to recover!

Castle Catch-Up

I'm enjoying the peace and calm of the week before my wedding to catch up on things that I've had to put on the side while I've been planning. Last night I watched the final season two episode of Castle from the DVR stash, and I can't wait till it is out on DVD in September! Guess now I can go back and re-watch season 1 on DVD. I bought it from Amazon before Christmas and have not had a chance to watch any of it. I think I only missed the pilot episode, so it will be good for background while knitting after we're back from our honeymoon. And I need to get Dave hooked on it, too...
